Spring has Sprung! Time to Detox!

Spring is here! Time to clean house.

With winter finally coming to the end, it is time to do spring cleaning, and spring cleaning should include treating your body to a Detox. There are MANY ways to detox, there are many programs on the market. I personally have done the Master Cleanse almost every year, but those types of programs can be extreme and hard to stick to.

One of the ways commonly overlooked is the Ionic Foot Detox. perhaps the best thing is that it gives you 30 minutes of time that is away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine preferably in an environment that is conducive to healing.

So how does it work?

The Ionic Cleanse works by osmosis. The array goes into the water with the feet, and the control unit delivers a current to the array. This current causes the metals within the array, and the minerals the water to generate positively and negatively charged ions.

Everything in your body has a positive or negative charge. When the current is in negative ion mode it attracts positively charged contaminants (like a magnet) through the soles of your feet. There are over 2000 pores on each foot, and they tend to be larger making it easier for the release of toxins. This is why the bottom of the feet are also one of the best places to use essential oils.

So are the benefits real? There is quite a bit of controversy on if the detox machines really do what they say they do. So question 1, is it possible for toxins to get pulled out of the body through the skin. Some that say the machines do not work state that it is impossible for toxins to leave the body through the skin. However there is something called a sweat patch that can be left on the body for several days at a time and can be analyzed to determine if the person wearing the patch had any drugs or alcohol (both of which are toxins)

In fact there were 44 documented studies all showing different applications of the sweat patch and what it can test for. It seems clear that toxins can in fact pass through the skin, though the majority of the tests were associated with testing for various drugs.

George Cox of Natural Options Aromatherapy who owns one of the detox companies did a blood test for one of their clients on a Thursday. They then did a detox, and got a subsequent blood test some of the blood value difference include:

One thing that may give the detox’s a bad rap, is that the market is now flooded with imported models that are cheaply made, that break easily, and don’t even come with instructions. Some machines are less than $200.00. Are they really the same thing as a $600 dollar machine? What if someone offered to sell you a Cadillac for the price of a Ford? I think we would all be a little skeptical, and perhaps it is some of these cheap imitations that are creating a bad image for the machines that really get the job done. 

Bottom line for the price of a detox, or even a detox package it is affordable and you can be your own judge.
